Courtyard by Marriott Houston Rice University

We stayed three nights, and everyone was attentive, helpful, and fun. This was the friendliest Marriott we’ve ever stayed at. A big thanks to Appolino, Carlson, James, Jackson, and the night front desk for the service. We loved the Silk Road restaurant too. Thank you all ♥️

I’ve stayed here at least a dozen times and always enjoy it. The updated rooms have no carpeting, which is a big plus, and I didn’t see any construction this time. The lobby restaurant is amazing, and the new bar is excellent. Staff are awesome, parking has never been an issue, and the hotel is right in the middle of Houston. I don’t think the current reviews reflect the place.

Ashley helped sort out a reservation problem I’d had with another Marriott, and she was kind and compassionate about it. She’s a real asset to the hotel and deserves a raise. I travel a lot for work, and I’ll stay here again because of her.

They seem badly understaffed, and it shows. The location is decent and the rooms aren’t half bad, but that’s about all I can say in its favor. Calling the hotel bar a “Bistro” is a stretch. Breakfast was overpriced and took more than an hour to arrive, so people started canceling. There’s no complimentary hotel coffee, and ordering it at the “bistro” took forever too. One woman was handling orders and making each breakfast as it came in. The hotel has a very poor plan for running this place, and it needs some TLC.
