AC Hotel Spartanburg

I spent three nights here while touring a college, and the hotel is beautiful. The bed is firm, the bathroom is great, and I loved the walk-in shower with its rain head. The towels were soft, and the couch was comfy for watching TV. Cable service was a letdown, though, with incorrect times and lots of lag. The hotel restaurants were very good, and downtown is just a block away, with plenty of restaurants, bars, lounges, a small bookstore, and two coffee shops. I also tried Birdies, the indoor golf place with a Trackman simulator. Make reservations for restaurants and activities if you’re planning to go. It’s a great place to visit.

We could walk to Starbucks, some great restaurants, and a brewery, and the rooftop bar was really nice. The front desk staff were very nice too, and our rooms were clean. My husband, daughter, and I were visiting my son and loved staying here. We’d like to come back in the spring. Everything was perfect, and parking was only seven dollars, even though people had mentioned a fee.

My son attends a nearby college, and the hotel raised its nightly rate by $400 for family weekend. Parking is limited too, so if you arrive late at night, you may have to walk from a distant garage. My door also wouldn’t lock. It’s a beautiful hotel otherwise.

The hotel looks beautiful, but that’s about all it has going for it. The beds were uncomfortable, though not unbearable, and the staff came across as rude and unwelcoming. Maintenance locked me and several other guests in the pool area, so we had to leave through the basement. He said the bartenders were being distracted by people coming through the main doors. I don’t understand why guests had to be inconvenienced for the bartenders’ sake, but I guess that’s what they prioritize here 🙃
