BEST WESTERN Spartanburg I-26

On our drive back to Virginia, my wife and I checked into a non smoking room that smelled as though people smoked in it all the time. The toilet was leaking, and we could hear everything through the walls. We also experienced a domestic incident and reported it just minutes later, when we checked out. The area looked nice and safe, but we left for a much more reputable hotel. I’d give this place 100 thumbs down. Travelers, keep going a few miles and find somewhere safe and clean.

I booked this room for my boyfriend on Saturday 10/12/24 and decorated it. After we were lying across the bed, he spotted a bug. I looked and saw it was a bedbug. When I went to the front desk to demand a refund, I noticed one on my shirt too. The desk associate didn’t hesitate to say it had happened before. The hotel wasn’t clean at all.

We only stayed one night, so I didn’t spend much time in the room. The hotel seemed extremely clean while we were there: the floor actually shined, and the soap smell was strong everywhere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The downsides were an outlet hanging open and a disgusting pullout bed. We didn’t have toddlers, so I wasn’t worried about anyone getting electrocuted, and for one night we didn’t have to deal with the bed for long. It was cheap and very clean for a quick overnight stay, but I’d choose somewhere else for a longer visit.

After driving from Michigan, I stayed here for two nights. There were bugs, though thankfully I didn’t see bed bugs. The shelves were broken, the walls looked wonky, the sink didn’t run, and the shower had no hot water. Duct tape held up the curtains, the TV didn’t work, and the room’s fire alarm wasn’t connected. At breakfast the milk was spoiled. We asked for fresh milk and they replaced it, but didn’t even wash the jug first. Dogs were barking and people screaming close to midnight. The weekly rates posted at the front desk make me think the staff know this is more like a budget apartment complex for less fortunate people than a hotel.
