Days Inn by Wyndham Spokane

The staff I met were very nice, and my room was roomy with a comfortable king bed. Still, the place was worn in spots, possibly because construction was going on, and it needs a lot of restoration. The doors didn't close well, the stairs to the 200 rooms smelled bad, and the outside should be cleaner. I also found women's hair in the bathroom, as if it hadn't been cleaned before I arrived.

The staff at the front desk and housekeeping were very nice, and the rooms were clean. The rates were affordable, the A/C was ice cold, and the room had a hair dryer, coffee, microwave, and small fridge. We had no trouble getting extra towels. Downtown is close by, though some areas are gathering places for homeless people, which in my view seems common in bigger cities now. The beds were too hard, the toilet paper was soft but thin, and the ice machine was broken all four nights.

The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. That's the end of the good parts. The heater didn't work in the first two rooms we tried, and the second room wasn't clean. Things worked in the third room, but the carpet needed vacuuming. The tub didn't seem to have been cleaned after the previous guests, and there were no towels, just a wet bath mat and hair in the tub. We were not impressed. This wasn't my first bad experience with Days Inn, and I won't stay at their properties again. I don't expect luxury, but I do expect a clean room.

We had five people in the room, but they wouldn't give us enough towels. When we called for more for our morning showers, they didn't show up until after 2 p.m. Room service was unpredictable, arriving at 2 one day and 7 the next, and not coming at all another day. They didn't even clean the toilet, and the outside trash cans stayed overflowing all week. The place was quiet and felt safe, and the rooms were practical with comfortable beds, but the service was awful.
