Quality Inn Thornburg

The location is about the only thing I liked. The first room was dirty, with beer cans everywhere, and the front desk said housekeeping must have missed it. I moved next door, but it smelled strongly of cigarettes, so I asked for a second-floor room, which was much cleaner than downstairs. Even there, the bathtub and curtains were filthy, and room 201 had a constant urine smell in the bathroom. Turning on the shower didn’t help. The service was okay, nothing special. It’ll do because my jobsite is nearby, but I won’t come back.

The place was disgusting. There was black mold, someone else’s hair on the sink and tub, bugs crawling around, and a terrible stench. No one listened to our complaints or tried to help. While I was at the front desk asking for help, another woman came in to complain about how filthy her room was. I’d rather sleep in my vehicle than spend another night here.

It’s an older place, but it was quiet and I slept well. For the price, it’s hard to beat, and I didn’t see any bugs.

The shower was the one decent part: strong water pressure, though the dial didn’t have a clear off position. The walls around it were dirty. Breakfast worked for a quick grab and go, with waffles, yogurt, pastries, bagels, OJ, milk, and apple juice. The friendly guy at the window was helpful when we arrived late and just needed a place to sleep, but the room was unpleasant. It smelled musty, the floor was sticky enough that we kept our shoes on, and the mattress should have been thrown away years ago. There was only one sheer curtain, and it wasn’t fully attached. The towels were stained. You get what you pay for.
