I was there for a couple of days on a work trip. The rooms were clean, smelled nice, and had soft, clean sheets. The hotel as a whole also seemed clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and helped me find local places to eat. When a storm delayed my trip, they were helpful with the reservation changes I needed. The card accepting vending machines were handy too.
The hot breakfast each day was a full meal, with pastries, fruit, breads, and juices as well. Online bookings seemed to get better nightly prices, and for the cost it's a good option. The rooms were okay, clean, and a comfortable size. The front desk and housekeeping need improvement, though. During my six-day stay it was too difficult to get basic supplies. Housekeeping never responded, and the front desk only had tissues available.
We enjoyed our stay at Comfort Inn and look forward to coming back whenever we visit Washington DC. The place was very clean, even in areas under renovation, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Free parking was a real plus since other places in the area charge for it. The motel was also convenient to shopping and dining, and the free shuttle to the beeline meant we didn't have to drive there and pay for parking. Breakfast was free, very good, and had plenty of choices, including healthy ones.
The breakfast manager's attitude made this a horrible experience. From the start, her manner was awful, and when we asked on the first day whether there was anything vegetarian, she smirked instead of simply answering politely. When my husband was looking for butter, she said, “what are you looking”. She oversees and manages inventory, but was arrogant and rude. Hardly anyone speaks English, and the attitude was terrible right from the start. I'll be speaking to management about a full refund and asking them to take strict action against this unpleasant woman.
The area seemed decent, and my car was neither stolen nor did it have bulletproof glass. The check-in guy was nice enough, but the room was only kind of clean, and the damage was awful. The tops of the comforters felt strange, almost like paper towels. At 11 o'clock people were screaming, yelling, and partying outside my window, hitting the glass. It woke my child at 3 am. The phone to the front desk didn't work, of course. My child couldn't get back to sleep, and we ended up leaving. No refund, apology, or anything.
