Element by Marriott Springfield South

I appreciated the little things here, especially the filtered water stations and healthy breakfast choices. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was bright and clean. My room was spotless and modern, with a well thought out kitchen and the eco-friendly touches Element is known for. The lobby and bar had a relaxed, upscale feel, a nice place to unwind after a long day. Staff were welcoming and professional from check-in through checkout, and seemed to care about guests’ comfort. Management clearly takes pride in the property and its team. Element Springfield South is clean and fresh, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Springfield.

The shampoo and body wash were so refreshing that I ordered the same products after I got home. The beds were firm in a good way and comfortable, and I enjoyed the indoor pool. Staff were friendly and accommodating throughout, and breakfast was good. It’s a pretty new, quiet hotel that worked perfectly for a quick, last-minute private getaway. It also seems well suited to business or family stays. I’ll make this my go-to Springfield hotel.

It was my first stay, and just okay. The room felt cold and sterile, almost like a converted garage. Breakfast was oatmeal packets, uncooked cinnamon rolls, and eggs, so they could do a much better job. If I come back, I’d pick somewhere else. That was my experience, though, and others may have had a better one.

The breakfast had a nice, wide selection, and the hotel was quiet even with lots of children around. Everything looked clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly. My issue was with the two main bath towels, which smelled like burnt rubber or a harsh chemical. The other towels and washcloths were fine. I called the desk to ask for a fresh towel for my husband, but was told I’d have to come pick it up. I’d already showered and was in my pajamas, so he dried off with the clean hand towels while I was left smelling like a chemical bath.
