I loved the character of this beautiful old place, and the room was comfortable and just right. The tour was lovely and informative, and the service was unmatched. They even left fresh baked cookies at our door with a note and the weather forecast. Breakfast was delicious. I'm in love with old places like this.

We liked the historic building, and I can see how someone else might find it charming, but our stay disappointed us. The room's balcony turned out to be shared, so we didn't have privacy in the room or while using it. Standing water brought mosquitoes that ate me up. They'd talked about a chef making a wonderful breakfast to suit us, but the next morning a young, rude kid said the only option was sausage. We passed.

The inn keeper was so kind and made the place feel like home. Our room was even more beautiful and comfortable than the pictures showed. We'll definitely come back!

I gave my stay a 10 out of 10 and would happily return to the Inn at 835. Staying in The Orchard felt like stepping back in time, with thoughtful early 20th century decor throughout the beautifully restored 1906 luxury apartment building. The suite had two bedrooms, a cozy living room, a private balcony, and a luxurious jetted tub. The place also made for a peaceful retreat, while still being convenient to Springfield’s historic attractions. Breakfast changed each morning and came with fresh coffee and juice. At 8:30 p.m., fresh baked cookies would appear outside the door, a small, warm touch that made the stay feel especially welcoming. A unique place in Springfield for relaxing or sightseeing.

We got a tour on arrival, and the rooms looked just like the website photos. Everything was well maintained and showed the history of the location, which I found fascinating. The staff were excellent, and breakfast was excellent too. Looking forward to my next visit.
