SpringHill Suites by Marriott Springfield North

Mary made breakfast especially pleasant. She kept everything clean, the food was hot, and she was constantly tidying up. She was also such a warm, hospitable person to be around. The breakfast itself was among the better free hotel breakfasts we've had. We were in town for a swim meet and had five rooms booked. The front desk did a great job arranging them together. The whole hotel was spotless, and our rooms were comfortable and nicely furnished. It was quiet, too, and felt like a little oasis near I 44. As Marriott lifetime platinum members, we've stayed at plenty of properties, and this is one of the best moderate Marriott brand hotels we've visited recently. Thanks for the great service.

The rooms are decent, and the place is very clean. Staff are responsive, which I appreciate, though they weren't very friendly to me. Cleaning every other day has become common, but I think it's poor practice. I won't give a hotel five stars without daily room cleaning. Springhill suites by Marriott Springfield North is a solid, practical hotel. It's not fancy, but it does the job, and I'd recommend it for a short stay.

The pillows smelled awful, and the A/C wasn't working properly. Each morning I asked the front desk to have the bedding changed, and they said they'd take care of it. By the second evening, nothing had been changed. When I checked again, I was told housekeeping only comes every third day. At $195 a night, I expected basic cleanliness and much better help. The service was subpar, and I was very disappointed with the stay. I come to this area for business every two weeks, but I'll stay somewhere else from now on. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The staff were kind and helpful, but the bathroom grout and trim were filthy. Water was leaking behind the shower wall, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's mold hidden back there. This might work if cleanliness isn't a big concern.
