Tru by Hilton Springfield Downtown

The price was more than reasonable for a spot close to convenience stores, restaurants and campus venues. Jake greeted us as soon as we came in, with the kind of energy you get from someone who really loves his job. The room was simple, comfortable and clean. We’ll be back in the years to come. Bravo!

Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including pancakes, fresh yogurt, oatmeal, protein options and even an Udi's Gluten Free Bagel. I was recently diagnosed celiac, so it was nice not to miss out on hotel bagels for once. The room was comfortable, and the oversized pillows made for a good night's sleep. I also liked the Not Soup Radio bath soaps, a fun nod to an old joke. We checked in later in the day and got a friendly welcome, plus a bag with bottled water and skinny pop. The lobby is cute, with bright colors, comfortable seats, a pool table and a game cabinet guests can use for free. Check out was smooth. I’d recommend this spot when you’re in town.

I stayed two days in a double Queen room. The lobby was my favorite part, with coffee and tea available around the clock, lots of seats, a pool table and a snack and drink bar where you can buy things. The room was clean and spacious, and so was the bathroom. Even the soaps were better than what I’ve found at many other hotels. I’d stay again.

The salt water pool is a relaxing place to spend the evenings, and there’s good parking in a well-lit area. The morning breakfast has nearly anything you could want. I especially like the eggs, odd as that might sound, they’re really good. The rooms are nice and very clean. I love this hotel, and it’s a great place to stay for downtown Springfield.
