The whole hotel smelled of bleach, and the laundry room being in the front lobby was strange. There was a TV in the front room but none in the bedroom, and the AC barely worked in one of the rooms. The layout was poor, and the rooms seemed slapped together, like a run-down Holiday Inn with a wall removed between rooms. Some lights didn’t work or seemed like fire hazards. During my 12-day stay in late 2023, items went missing from my room after its only cleaning, and I was charged a random $100 fee. At checkout and twice afterward, I was told it would be refunded. I felt robbed by the cleaning staff and front desk. While I was being lied to at checkout, a fight broke out in the lobby between a staff member and a woman who wasn’t staying there. The company I work for has 50,000+ employees and blacklisted the hotel from future reservations. They just changed the name, it used to be an Extended Stay America, maybe because the reviews got too bad, lol. If you care about your belongings, money, and safety, I’d strongly advise against staying here. I’m middle-aged and well-built, and even I didn’t feel safe.

My child arrived to find the room unclean, with sheets from the previous guest left on the countertop. They asked the receptionist to have it cleaned, but were told there would be no maid service until the next day. When they asked where they were supposed to sleep that night, the clerk took them to the laundry room to get their own linens. They needed sheets, towels, soap, and other things. Thankfully my child took photos, since the hotel denied any wrongdoing and wouldn’t refund the money. I’d avoid this hotel. The service and experience were horrible.

Preethi at the front desk made me feel at home as soon as I arrived. Her warm welcome and introduction to the hotel made check-in smooth and easy. The place itself is cozy and has good amenities, and everyone working there was friendly and attentive, which made me feel special. My room was clean, and it was clear the staff care about the details. I had a great stay at Maninstay Suites.

The staff were helpful when we had a problem with our room and moved us. I also liked being asked to check the new room before bringing our things in. The place was pleasant enough to sleep in, and I hope the rough edges are just part of the new ownership settling in. You can see the rooms have some age, with scratches on the tables. Our first room had no blinds, and the replacement still had unpainted plaster. The halls smelled off, and people were playing loud music in the lobby at midnight. Staff seemed stretched thin and didn't know about the missing blinds or whether the TV worked. The location and service were great, but it felt like they opened before they were ready. Hopefully they'll make updates.
