We had a bigger room than expected in the back section, with a small couch area, and check-in through booking.com was easy. My husband and I stayed six nights, Feb 1-7th. The thrift store beside the hotel got noisier earlier each day. Trucks backing up and employees yelling were a nuisance, and their vehicles, along with what we assume were employees' cars, crowded the side road we had to use to get in and out. We made it work, though. The location was pretty convenient. A coffee shop was walkable on one side, and there was a bakery at the front. Castillo de San Marcos was about a five-minute drive; we usually parked there for $2.50 an hour. Ripleys and the Old Jail were even closer. The man who handled linens was friendly and knew the area well. He gave us directions and chatted with us about music and food, and brought extra coffee cups when we ran out. Housekeeping only came when we called, at least during our stay. The noise next door was our only complaint, and it wasn't something hotel management could control.

For the price, it was a good deal compared with other places, and parking was free. The owners were welcoming and kind. It's far enough from town to be mostly quiet, aside from occasional cars and people heading to their rooms. Our room was spacious, though a bit dusty and not completely clean; nothing seemed seriously wrong. The AC cooled it enough, but didn't make it cold.

I travel a lot, and the room was a pleasant surprise. It had nine charging ports around the room, even one in the clock, more than I've seen anywhere else. The bed was comfortable and full size, and the newly redone bathroom was clean and nicely fitted out. The building doesn't have a fancy exterior, but it had been recently painted, and our room was freshly remodeled with good modern furnishings. They don't serve breakfast, though they do point guests to a nearby local spot and provide a 20% off coupon. I'd stay here again next time I'm in St Augustine.

This older-style motel is about 2 miles from town, and the owners clearly take pride in looking after it. The room was clean and comfortable, and the owners were nice. For the price, it was a five-star stay, even if it's not a five-star resort. With the area feeling like more of a tourist trap in recent years, the reasonable rate was welcome. I'd come back.

We meant to stop for a day after traveling to St Augustine, but ended up staying three nights. The room was very clean, the live-in owners were friendly and knew their stuff, and the price suited our budget and taste. It's on a quiet stretch of San Marco Avenue, which made the stay feel like a good fit.
