Budget Lodging

The lodge feel was lovely, and I liked that you could buy s’mores kits to roast by the fire. Breakfast was good too, with a menu that was different from the usual hotel spread. Our room had scriptures and an open Bible with a highlighted verse, which felt encouraging after a stressful drive. We’d had to stop at short notice because of the weather, and the staff were friendly, accommodating, and suggested local places to eat that might still be open. We ended up ordering from their kitchen, which was convenient. The food was good, especially the BBQ chicken flatbread pizza. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this stay deserved one. Thanks for keeping your faith and sharing the love and hospitality of Christ with people passing through.

We had our dog with us on a cross-country drive, so we booked the upgraded suite. There was lots of room for her to roam, and the large dog park was a plus. Being able to park right in front of the room was handy. The room was clean and very nice, the front desk staff were so kind, and breakfast had a great selection. The bathroom in our room could use some updating, but we had a wonderful stay and would come back when passing through.

After my semi went into a ditch in bad weather, the staff showed real compassion during a stressful, overwhelming time. Ashley even surprised me with a thoughtful care package, and I won’t forget that kindness. The hotel feels warm and welcoming, with beautiful decor and the care of a family home. You can see the pride in it as a family-owned business passed down through generations. I loved my stay and would absolutely return. Can’t say enough good things about this adorable place.

Two employees dug out enough of the driveway for us to get back to the freeway, and before that a young man had dug my car out so we could reach it. We’d gotten caught in the snowstorm while driving from Benton Illinois toward the Dallas area, after leaving Benton. The desk woman was so sweet and said if we got stuck another night, extending the stay would be easy, so we needn’t worry about somewhere warm. I had biscuits and gravy for breakfast while we waited for the plow. The rooms were nice, the beds comfy, and the customer service was outstanding.
