Days Inn by Wyndham St George

The accessible parking was only a few steps from the room, and the room itself was clean and smelled good. But it isn't a good room to manage solo if you have mobility problems and can't stand well. The shampoo and conditioner were too high to reach, and the bed was too high for someone around five feet tall, especially without much arm strength. A companion could help, of course. Breakfast was the usual waffles and cereal, and the coffee was bland. The dining room could use dusting; cleanliness there was about three stars. Fine for a night or two.

The only good part of the stay was Andrew, the heavy sit fella at the front desk. He went above and beyond when I called earlier that Sunday, making sure I got a first-floor room and extra pillows. The room was barely clean, though decent for one night. Breakfast the next morning was below average, with cold food and bland coffee. Someone should give Andrew a raise.

The beds were comfortable and the decor was nice, but the door didn't seal, so highway traffic came through clearly. We arrived after 10 pm as a party of five, two adults and three kids, yet I had to go back to the desk to ask for a rollaway. It came quickly but looked dirty, and the sheets and blankets were stained; my blanket had a hole. The bed pillows were thin little 14-inch squares, though unfolding and shaking them made them look better. The floor was dirty, the mirror had splatters, and there was worn toilet-seat material, dirt, and hair around the toilet base. The shower flow was weak, and the bathroom faucet was so shallow it was hard to wash our hands. Breakfast eggs and hash browns had no flavor, and the coffee was terrible. There was no yogurt or fruit, though the waffles were good.

The room itself was what we needed, and it was clean, including the linens and floor. Breakfast was another story. The area was filthy, the coffee tasted like no one knew how to clean the machine, and they didn't even have milk for cereal or syrup for waffles. I wouldn't have eaten there even if those things were available. We were traveling from Long Island, New York, to Miami, Florida, and it felt like nobody had given breakfast a moment's thought. Sleep here and get out quickly. I'm very disappointed with everything besides the room, so I guess three stars.
