Rustic Manor Motor Lodge

The first two nights, we had to visit with our friends in the hallway, even though we’d been told before arriving that we could use the large breakfast room. The staff member suggested we go to a bar, despite our group being there with a bunch of kids. They let us use the room on the third night to eat and play games. We cleaned up and took out the garbage as promised. We did drop some popcorn while snacking, and picked up what we could without a vacuum, but got yelled at after someone complained. The staff never vacuumed up that popcorn during our stay. We were there with kids for snowmobiling, and the website never mentioned adult-only pool hours. The kids weren’t allowed in, even when no adults were using it. Staff were rude, closed the pool by 9:45 so they could leave, and ran out of towels. When my husband asked for more, they said no, then eventually brought some after a lot of complaining. After 10 pm the staff leave, and every door, including the main entrance, is locked, so make sure you arrive before then. Breakfast was nothing special. There were sandwiches, but for our group of at least 40 they put out six, and we had to ask for more. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The hosts were very nice, and the decor looked good. The bed and sofa were comfortable. The remodel still gives the place that new smell.

At least the hotel sits right on the snowmobile trail. The rooms were dirty and very outdated, though, and the woman at the desk was extremely rude. Staff leave at 10:00pm and don’t come back until morning.

The hot tub had been out for weeks, but the check-in staff never mentioned it when I asked about pool hours, and there was nothing about it on the website. We’re here for 4 wheeling, and would have picked another hotel if we’d known. A hot tub is a relaxing way to unwind after a day on the trails. There was an odd smell in the room, so we bought febreeze and sprayed it. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the fan. After 10 pm, the whole staff leaves until 6am, so good luck if something goes wrong. We usually go with the flow, but this was a really unpleasant stay, and it felt like they’d hidden problems. We come up to trail ride and snowmobile, but won’t return or recommend it.
