The desk chair was more comfortable than the ones I usually get, and the couch and chair by the sliding door were great too. That spot opens onto a big balcony with a lovely view, and there are lawn chairs out there. The bed seemed comfortable, the TV was a good size and has an HDMI input, and the water pressure was nice and strong. The layout is clearly old-school, but my room had been updated nicely. I saw comments about updates, and I think only minor work is still needed. The tub and toilet color is one leftover detail, and the desk lamp is pretty cool. Staff were really friendly. Even with the fees and taxes, which vary by area, the price is great for what you get. I'd stay again and recommend it.

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was adequate. Our room was clean and about what I'd expect in this price range. The beach wasn't as nice or clean as the one at the Wyndham across the bridge, though we still had a very enjoyable stay. On a nighttime walk by the water, a skunk chased me. That's not the hotel's fault, lol.

There are lawn chairs and two firepits right along the shore, which made it lovely to sit outside. The inn is right on Lake Huron, and every room has a lake view and balcony. Our room was clean and comfortable, though we could hear people walking around in the room above. The first things you notice on arrival are the deteriorating curtains, which make the place look run down. The dumpster could use a fence too. It was open and looked nasty, right by the path to the lower rooms.

The best part is being able to walk down the stairs, through the back, and straight onto the sand and water. The views are great, and it's a cool layout for watching the sunrise or sunset. It's a decent place on the water just north of the Mackinac bridge, with a good amount of parking. The room was extremely hot when we arrived and took well over an hour to cool down. The furniture and screens are outdated, and the sink was clogged. There are stairs to the other levels. Even so, I'd still recommend it for the setting and views.

The place looked great after Jimmer, the maintenance god, got on top of the trash along the lakefront the morning after we arrived. It had been littered when we checked in after 4:30 pm. The disappointing part was other guests leaving trash everywhere without consideration for anyone else. The people running the inn do an outstanding job with what they have, and they're great. This is a great place to stay, and it's pet friendly!
