The only downside was the neighborhood, which felt a bit run down, though that’s no fault of the host. Delmar Loop, with lots of restaurants, is about 10 minutes away. We stayed in the Diamonds and Pearls room, and its details were amazing. The host responded quickly, there was plenty of hot water for the tub, and we couldn’t hear other guests. They brought a homemade breakfast to the room and set it up for us. A fabulous place to stay.

Our room, “Reflections,” was lovely, and the couple who run this beautiful B&B were very sweet. They brought a hot breakfast to our room in the morning. We had a great stay and would like to book again.

Hello 👋🏾, we’re Tammy & Jay Taylor from Belleville, Illinois. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on 11/26/25 in the Diamond & Pearl Room, our first bed & breakfast stay. Ms. Henrietta Taylor is the sweetest hostess and told us about the house, which was built in the 1800’s. The atmosphere was beyond words, and she served us steak, eggs, rice, biscuits, fruit medley, orange juice, and coffee for breakfast. So many people are sleeping on this St. Louis gem! One visit wasn’t enough, and we’ll definitely be back. Much love and blessings to all! 🤗

Henrietta was an absolute delight and took great care of us throughout our stay. Before we left, we sat and talked with her about the building’s history. She showed us a scrapbook with the original owner and builder, along with ledgers from its days as a boarding house. This early 1900s house has been refurbished into a 12-room B&B. Our room was bright and clean, with an eccentric decor and a very comfortable bed. We had the smallest room, so the bathroom was separate but on the same floor; some of the larger rooms have their own. Breakfast was excellent and served on time. I picked the place at random for an overnight trip to St. Louis and was glad I did. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in town.

The history adds to the fun, so be sure to read the articles about how Henrietta got started. There are beautiful tile floors, mesmerizing chandeliers, lively colors, and lovely artwork. A few small plaster repairs are needed here and there, but this place is so much nicer and more fun than any hotel I’ve stayed in. The rooms, food, and people are all amazing!
