We didn’t have enough time to try the food or drinks, but I plan to come back and spend longer exploring the amenities. The parking was convenient, and the wait for my car in the morning wasn’t bad. The hotel is easy to get around on foot, with plenty nearby. Our room was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had an eclectic style. Everything about the stay was outstanding.

I chose this Marriott because I’m loyal to the brand, and it turned out to be a fantastic find in St. Louis. The room amenities were my favorite part: a record player with albums including Jackson Browne & Donna Summer, a TV built into the bathroom mirror, and a heated “smart” toilet seat with a self-cleaning feature and one of the nicest bidets I’ve seen, complete with a built-in dryer. The hotel has a lovely antique luxury feel, and the lounge for elite Marriott members was nice. I loved everything about the place.

Our large conference group had a seamless, enjoyable stay, thanks to the warmth and effort of the whole team. Hosting so many people at once is a big job, and they handled it with professionalism and genuine hospitality. Latrina was an outstanding manager, attentive and organized, and clearly focused on things running smoothly for guests and staff. Kevin, the night auditor, was just as impressive, handling every detail carefully and efficiently. It was clear he takes pride in his work.

The rooms were nice, but the parking situation is a joke. The offsite option advertised as an alternative to the $50 valet requires walking all the way around the block, and public parking doesn’t start until the 4th floor. There also isn’t much within walking distance. After how long it took to fix a charge, I’ll stay elsewhere on my yearly medical trips to STL. We used Marriot points for our one-night stay at Hotel Saint Louis, and both check-in and checkout confirmed there would be no charge. After I left, the hotel charged my card anyway. It took five calls to the hotel, plus calls to my bank, to sort out their mistake. I finally got the refund 42 days after the stay. First they said it was only a hold, even though it had posted. Then they said my credit union needed to give them an authorization code; after we called with it, they said their bank had to give our bank a code instead. Next they said no code was needed, just a manager’s approval, and promised to call back. They never did. On the fifth call, they told us to dispute the charge with our bank.

I spent a full week in Room 906, coordinating transportation for a large event at the convention center. Working with the staff each day, I felt supported and part of a family. Leaving felt like saying goodbye to people I cared about. This was my first trip to St. Louis. Downtown didn’t quite live up to my expectations, but the hotel more than made up for that. It’s a couple of blocks from the convention center and about a 7-minute walk to Ballpark Village and the Arch. The downtown restaurants nearby were excellent. I recommend Katie’s at Ballpark Village, and ask for Lisa. Wade, the hotel manager, runs a great operation. Latrina in the office, the day and night front desk teams, especially Kevin, bellman Pila, valet Abdi, bartender Aaron, housekeeping, and plenty of others whose names I wish I’d written down all made me feel welcome and cared for. The heated pool was relaxing, the gym was well equipped, and the bathroom had a bidet and a TV built into the mirror. I loved the comfortable bed and the record player. I even saw a couple taking beautiful bridal photos around the property. The hotel made such a strong impression that I can’t wait to return.
