Le Méridien St. Louis Downtown

We were able to walk to the Enterprise Center from this perfectly located hotel. Our stay was great, and when the two-bed room wasn’t ready at check-in, they gave us two rooms with a king bed each at no extra charge. Both were huge, nicely decorated, had comfortable furniture, and good blackout curtains. The downside was that the AC wasn’t working in the hallways or lobby, and parking cost too much.

The staff were pleasant, but couldn’t point us toward a good place to eat, and the hotel restaurant was mediocre for the price. Our room was spacious, but the fitted sheet had a stain and there was no top sheet. During our two-day stay we didn’t get fresh towels or room straightening. Small pieces of paper stayed on the hall floor by our door the whole visit, so it didn’t seem to be vacuumed.

The room was clean and stocked, and the staff were kind, helpful, and easy to talk to. Valet was convenient and great. Still, I barely slept. The bathroom mirror kept switching itself on and off for about five hours in the middle of the night, with nobody going in to trigger it. A fire alarm blinked all night too. It made no sound, but was very bright and annoying in the dark. The location was good for walking, but outside was VERY LOUD all night, with cars revving and people playing loud music. Doors started slamming early in the morning, and housekeeping knocked at 9am even though checkout was at 11am. I’d been looking forward to a good sleep in that massive, comfortable bed, but all the distractions made it hard.

For my fiancée’s graduation, we were welcomed so warmly at Le Meridien. The valet, front desk, bartender, and waitress were all friendly and attentive. Our modern room had an EXTRA comfortable bed, the kind I wish more hotels had. I only wish someone had cleaned the very dirty windows, which shouldn’t happen at a hotel of that class. The restaurant and bar food was good, and the atmosphere was relaxing with nice music. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome!
