Super 8 by Wyndham St. Louis Airport

Pay a little extra and stay somewhere closer. They've been remodeling this place for at least three months. The smells are bad, the carpets are bad, and the hallways reek of cigarettes. My room smelled like dirty bleach. Only a great place to stay if you're homeless.

My non-smoking room absolutely reeked of smoke, and when I came in, the pillows were on the floor and the sheets were shoved to one side, like someone had napped there earlier. The breakfast area also had a sign saying the health department had closed it. Since nobody seemed to care about anything, I decided to smoke my weed in the room. And they still have the nerve to ask for a $200 deposit.

It's definitely outdated, and I wasn't happy about having to put down a deposit. Still, check-in was easy thanks to the kind, welcoming front desk staff. I felt safe, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable, so I slept well. The Super 8 in Motley worked for what I needed, though there's plenty of room for improvement.

I stayed just one night at a time, on weekdays, so that's the basis for my experience. For those stays, this hotel did the job: it was well lit and felt safe, quiet through the night, and good for a night's rest. There was also somewhere to eat within walking distance, including the quaint little Rock Road Bar & Grill directly across the street.
