Upham Beach Inn

The room was nice, and the kitchen had whatever we needed. My kids especially loved the pool, and there was a shower to rinse off the sand. We spent the 4th of July weekend here and had a great time. Restaurants are convenient to reach, the beach is a short walk away, and we didn’t have to deal with parking. It felt clean, and I’d absolutely stay again.

We were locked out of one unit and told someone could come in 20 minutes. The manager said it was probably the batteries, but we ended up leaving. There was also a very loud party in another unit at 11 at night. Within minutes of arriving, we’d already seen three roaches on the counters and more in the bathrooms. We didn’t stay at this disgusting property. The manager said she didn’t have the authority to refund us. What a joke!

This was not a spring break party kind of place, which we appreciated. Our one-bedroom unit had a useful separation between the bedroom and the kitchen and living room, so someone could sleep while someone else worked. The kitchen was a good size for a vacation stay, with cookware, dishes, and a full-size fridge. Everything was squeaky clean, from the room to the pool and shared areas, even the remotes, AC vents, and baseboards. Restaurants and ice cream shops were within walking distance, and the beach was an easy walk down a quiet street that ends at the beach parking lot. They even provide a wagon for your stuff. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

The kids liked having their own room with a TV and cable hookup, and we all enjoyed the heated pool after a beach visit. The property was newly renovated and felt cozy. The beach is a short walk away, as are privately owned ice cream shops and Rick's Reef, a small bar and restaurant. The owners have equipped the place with almost everything you might need, including a grill we used to cook hot dogs and burgers our first night. The kitchen had plenty of utensils and pots and pans. Each unit comes with a “beach box” holding an umbrella, wagon, two chairs, and toys for the kids. My family and I loved staying at the Upham Beach Inn and would definitely come back.
