Relax Inn St. Robert

The room was quiet and clean, and the front desk was pleasant. I'd stay again. The online rate was $38, but it came to $50 when I went to get a room, plus a $20 pet deposit. The English was broken because of a heavy accent.

We went to spend Family Day with our daughter at Fort Leonard Wood and pick her up after graduation. The hotel made the trip miserable with its rudeness, poor upkeep, and lack of care. We will not use this nightmare place again. When we go back next year after her AIT graduation, we'll stay elsewhere or literally sleep in the car. If you're visiting the St. Robert's area, research more carefully than I did. The room was dim, with only one of the two bedside lamps plugged in. We had to move the mattress to plug in the other one, and the lamp by the TV wasn't connected either. The only usable outlet for phones, a blow dryer, or curling irons was loose and right above the sink. The coffee maker, mini fridge, and microwave were all unplugged because their spots by the TV had only two outlets, both in use. We'd booked weeks ahead, but nobody had prepared the room for our arrival. The king bed's bottom sheet had no elastic left; just sitting on it pulled it off. The older man we dealt with was extremely unfriendly. The bed was hard, and the old TV didn't work at first. When we asked for help, he came in with a second remote that hadn't been in sight, got the TV and cable connected, then rudely yelled at us about how to use it. The advertised free continental breakfast didn't exist. They cleaned the room only once, and when I asked for fresh towels, he wouldn't bring clean ones until we took him the dirty ones. The office was never open, and the only ice machine was in there and out of order. We never saw staff there besides Mr. Rude.

The owners were rude and had no hospitality. I got dirty towels all four nights, and the Wi-Fi didn't work. There was no 'do not disturb' sign, so they could come in while I was out regardless of what I wanted. A lizard was in the restroom; they denied it, then dealt with it after I left for the day. Whoever cleaned the room moved all my bathroom items around and left them a mess, and turned off the air conditioning. After my 14-hour drive, I arrived 30 minutes early and was asked to pay another $10 just to check in then. They hardly spoke English and refused to repeat themselves, just staring when I asked what they'd said. Horrible service and nasty owners. Go anywhere else.

The beds were extremely hard, and the room had barely any light, with two lamps not working. There was no breakfast, and the Wi-Fi stayed down the whole time. I came to Missouri for my husband's basic training graduation, but I was so frustrated that I booked a hotel on base for one of the nights. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
