Quality Inn and Suites

The location was convenient, right off I-95 and close to shops, which was a plus. Wi-Fi also worked very well. The rooms were about what you’d expect from a budget hotel, but the older cable plasma TVs weren’t smart TVs. Cleanliness and service were a problem. We saw cigarette burn marks on the sheets, and promised room service never came. Trash piled up until we had four full bins, and no one replaced the towels. Some towels were heavily stained with yellowish residue and didn’t feel clean or sanitary, especially to use on my face. The juice machine was out of order, and despite signs showing juice options, there was nothing in the small fridge, not even drinking water. The advertised hot breakfast was limited to eggs, rubbery ham, and homestyle potatoes in small catering dishes, with bagels and bread. The only drinks available were basic coffee, hot water, and black tea. There was a strong marijuana smell through the hallways, especially on the first floor, despite the hotel claiming to be smoke-free. Our room keys also kept deactivating, so we had to go back to the front desk several times to have them rekeyed. Cleanliness, upkeep, and enforcing the hotel’s policies all need a lot of work.

We were lucky to find a last-minute room here. The front desk guys were really friendly and accommodating, and the room was nice and clean. The complimentary breakfast was good, too. There were a few crumbs by the mini fridge, but otherwise things were good, and we’ll be back next year. We couldn’t get the Wi-Fi working for the boys’ schoolwork, though, and there wasn’t any paperwork or even information on the key. The guy at the desk was hard to understand.

I’m still waiting for the hold on my card to drop. When I asked for a refund, they said the manager had left for the day and the person I spoke with couldn’t do it. That left me scrambling to book another hotel after I checked out immediately, and the card hold made it harder. The health department should investigate, and the hotel should be ashamed. I’d brought my dogs in after check-in, but thank goodness I have a bed bug K9. He alerted to the room. Looking more closely, I found what seemed gross and unsanitary. I pulled back the “clean sheets” and saw hair, bugs, and who knows what. The room was dirty, dingy, old, and poorly kept, though that was the least of my worries. The pictures online were grossly misleading. The door key barely worked, and once inside I didn’t feel the room was safe. It reeked of pot and smoke despite the hotel saying it was non-smoking. Outside, there was a loose dog off leash and a sketchy guy who appeared to be its owner. There are leash laws for a reason. The front desk associates seemed visibly under the influence or something, and I got creepy vibes at check-in. I was on a road trip and just needed a place to crash, so I tried to let it go. If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend.
