Hyatt Place Delano

The staff were friendly, and breakfast was better than we expected. We arrived late and got our room right away. The property looks newer, but it's already showing its age. We liked the soft bed, though the rooms are kept at 65, and noise from the road and trains could keep you awake. They had ear plugs on the nightstand.

We had to cancel our weekend away because of unexpected storms, so we never got to stay in the rooms. The staff were great to work with while we were arranging the group room package. Nayeli, the director, was wonderful, and Jessica at the front desk answered all our questions. They were helpful in the weeks beforehand and accommodating when we had to cancel. I hope to visit family in Delano soon, and we'll definitely stay at the Hyatt Place, Delano!

There was mold on the raspberries. My children and I had already eaten several, and we had stomach problems that day. This is unacceptable. I don't recommend paying close to $200 a night for this treatment. The hotel was clean, and I hadn't usually had issues with staying at the Hyatt before. But on our first day, my sister asked about applying her military discount to the reservation. The man at reception didn't know how and was rude. We stayed anyway. Most of the time, staff didn't greet us and were up front gossiping. One kitchen worker was very rude to us and other guests. We were allowed on earlier occasions to take a box of food upstairs for my nephew, who has autism, since we thought it would be easier for us and the staff. On the last day, that worker refused to give us a box and said we couldn't take food up. She told us to take it up with the manager. At 7:30 a.m. she was also rude to another guest asking for more oatmeal, saying she couldn't make any more. Is there a limit to how much oatmeal they make each day? There was no manager on site then, and although we were told someone would speak with us, nobody ever contacted us. Save your time and money.

Veronica and Savannah at the front desk made our family stay special. They were helpful, considerate, and funny, and our rooms were comfortable and just right. The dogs had a nice area on site, and we felt safe walking them around the area. The bar cafe had great quick meal options, along with the breakfast bar each morning. There are plenty of restaurants and shops across the street. We'd stay in Delano again when traveling that way.
