The Historic Berkeley Place

We had the Beverley on the first floor during a two-night winter trip to Staunton with friends. Our room had a private veranda, though three inches of snow meant we couldn't use it. The managers responded right away to questions and needs, and we enjoyed the shared spaces with our friends and other guests. The house is conveniently located for an easy walk to downtown restaurants and the theater. The rooms were clean and well appointed, with excellent mattresses and linens, and we were very comfortable. A five-star stay in a historic house. We had no complaints.

Snowy streets outside, warm lights and timeless charm inside. The Wilson Suite was stunning, cozy, quiet, and wonderfully comforting. I’m in love with this boutique hotel. It brought on pure nostalgia. Highly recommended!

We spent two days in Staunton and walked everywhere. The rooms were lovely, and the place itself is beautiful. The self-service setup worked perfectly because everything was laid out so well that having attendants on site would have taken away from the experience.

We enjoyed a long weekend here. The house was very quiet while we were there, even with most of the rooms occupied, and downtown Staunton is an easy walk away. It’s a beautiful, well-maintained old home with large, spacious guest rooms and high ceilings. There’s no staff on site apart from the cleaning crew after checkout.
