Highmark Steamboat Springs by Mountain Resorts

Our condo was beautiful and well cared for, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location, amenities, or service. The Highmark is right by the main base area and gondola, with friendly staff, ski storage, a pool and hot tub, and a van ready to take you where you need to go. Downstairs at the wild plum there are groceries, food, drinks, and across the street you’ll find great beer and food. We loved it and will be back!

We were locked out of our condo on Sunday evening, even though we were booked and paid from Friday, 7/29 through Monday, 8/1. After lunch downtown, we found our keys no longer worked and called the number at the entry desk several times. A young man got us inside but couldn’t reset the keys. We were told it was the weekend and the manager probably wouldn’t answer, so no one could help further. We ended up unable to leave the condo on our last night in town. The next morning, the young man at the desk barely acknowledged us. He didn’t offer to help with our bags or the luggage cart, which staff had routinely done before, and gave no apology for the lockout or the keys. Communication within management seems poor now. Other issues had already made for a bad stay on the last weekend of July. The condo was dirty, with floors and carpets that clearly hadn’t been vacuumed, and a sewage smell in the master bathroom. We suspected the p-traps were dry; running the faucets helped a little. The pool area stayed piled with dirty towels and in disarray all weekend. The front entry door was never fully closed, compromising building security. Highmark is fairly expensive. It used to feel worth it for the personal service, staff, facilities, and condo quality. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

The room was exceptionally comfortable and well maintained, and the front desk staff were welcoming and friendly. Having a shuttle available to take us around town made dinner much more relaxing. The location is great, just a couple of minutes on foot from the gondola. I’d definitely consider coming back.

We spent two weeks here this summer and had a wonderful time. The location made it easy to walk downstairs for groceries, deli items, coffee, and the liqueur store, then across the street for breakfast or a beer garden in the evening. The mountain base is just one block away, and we spent lots of time at the pool. Our room was lovely and felt like home, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
