The biggest concern for me was what happened around 5 a.m. A man who seemed to be an owner or employee, whose name sounded like Getty or Gary, went into a room with guests without permission. He said he could because he owned the place or worked there. One guest stood up to him and said it was unlawful. The man had a very strong accent and we couldn't understand much of what he was saying. He also asked, “Are you a US citizen? You know I can call ICE on you.” Another employee eventually came over, calmed things down, and left. It made me worry he might have done the same to my family and me. I didn't check, but I hope there weren't cameras in the room. Getting help was hard too. We called the front desk more than three times about WiFi, but no one answered, even though we had been told to call if anything came up. We finally had to go find an employee ourselves. There are only stairs, no elevator, and we were on the third floor, so going back and forth was a hassle. The room was reasonably clean, though the bedding had a few tears and the cleaning had some flaws. I've seen worse. Breakfast was pretty ordinary apart from the problems: the cereal wasn't mixed, some hot food was microwaved and still partly frozen, the waffle batter tasted very sour and the waffles weren't cooked through, and the yogurt was either frozen or mushy with clumps. The food was just mid. If you're short on money and need somewhere to stay, it may meet that need. I generally wouldn't recommend it because of the poor quality and the safety concern.

Gary, the manager, really stood out. He was so helpful and went out of his way to make sure things were taken care of. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the location made it easy to get to everything I needed. I had a great stay at the Baymont Inn in Stevens Point and would gladly come back or recommend it to someone visiting the area.

There wasn't a live front desk person available at night, which made the place feel less welcoming and made things less convenient. The lobby was also unpleasant: an older man and woman sat talking loudly for long stretches, and despite the pleasant weather outside, it was extremely hot in there because the heat was turned up too high.

The renovation looks really nice, and they did a wonderful job. The breakfast area is great now, and the staff running it are very nice and helpful. I hadn't been back since the work was done.

I was here for three weeks, and it was easily my worst hotel experience. The place feels very basic and run down, with no amenities and almost no customer service. Breakfast was a poor selection of bagels, pastries, and milk, basically grab-and-go snacks, with no hot food. The check-in process was difficult. There's usually no receptionist, and when someone is there, their accent can be very hard to understand and they weren't very accommodating. Check-in happens through a video booth, where the person guides you step by step, but I struggled to follow them. The virtual receptionist didn't explain the facilities, so I had to figure things out myself. I also asked a young Indian receptionist about laundry, and she seemed not to understand me. There is no laundry service at the facility. There was no housekeeping at all, so I slept in the same sheets for weeks. I was put on the second floor with three large, heavy pieces of luggage, and there were no elevators. I had to drag them up a very narrow staircase with no railing, and no one at the front desk helped. There's a lot that needs improvement.
