Holiday Inn Express & Suites Stevensville Benton Harbor by IHG

The staff were friendly, helpful, and had a great attitude. The room was very clean, we slept well, and the free continental breakfast was great. We’ll stay here again when we visit family.

The room was very clean and quiet, and the shower was excellent. But the Wi-Fi login wasn’t intuitive, and the phone to the front desk was out of service, so I had to go downstairs for help. They also charge $5 to park in their lot, which is infuriating. I’ve never had to pay to park at a hotel. This is Stevensville, Michigan, not NYC, where parking is scarce. There’s plenty of real estate here.

The staff were great, the rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. This is a very new HIE, and most things were great, but breakfast left a lot to be desired. Pancakes were the only decent item. The syrup bottle looked pretty disgusting, so I chose the packaged sugar-free syrup instead. There were no eggs, just dried-out omelet-like things stuck horribly to the pan. The sausage looked very questionable. It wouldn’t take much effort to improve breakfast at what could otherwise be quite a nice place.

The breakfast bar was great. The rest was mostly okay, but the room floors were dirty and could have used a vacuum. There weren’t enough towels or washcloths, so we had to ask for more. The room description says it sleeps six, but there were no linens for the sofa bed. Getting them was a challenge because the employee on duty didn’t have keys to the supply area.
