Stockton Inn

Dinner was wonderful, from appetizers through dessert, and the team was very accommodating with my picky-eater kids. Everything was prepared beautifully, and it felt like dining at a fancy NYC restaurant. We finished our stay with breakfast at Stockton market, where the pastries were so good it was hard not to buy them all to take home. Our family of four had a great time. The room was basically an apartment, with a living room, kitchen, and bedroom area, so the kids had lots of space and we felt relaxed. The pillows and towels were the softest I've ever used. Stephanie, the Inn Manager, insisted on walking us to the room in 5-degree weather and helped with our bags. We were also welcomed with fresh-baked cookies, fresh potato chips, and the most delicious onion dip I've had. We hope to return in spring, when we can enjoy the village and walk around more.

We stayed in the carriage house, which had high ceilings, a lovely bathroom with a soaking tub, and a very comfortable bed. It's pet-friendly, and they had bowls ready for our pup when we arrived. There's a good market across the street for coffee and breakfast, and both the inn and town have nice places to work remotely. This is one of the best small-town inns we've found: cozy and charming, yet stylish without trying too hard. The welcoming staff were kind and helpful without hovering. The restaurant on site is a real hidden gem, with a multi James Beard Award team behind it, and it shows in the excellent food and wine program.

Stockton is a sleepy little town, with a great wine and spirits shop and the Stockton Market. We had a fantastic, quiet weekend away from a busy work week. The inn was warm and comfortable, and the food and drinks were delicious. The service went beyond five stars.

This was our second visit to the Stockton Inn. We first came when it had just opened, and the experience was so lovely that I wanted to celebrate my birthday here this year. It was nice to see the new ways the inn has developed the experience. We loved the restaurant, and every dish was delicious. We can't wait to come back.
