Quality Suites Stratford

The room itself was spacious and clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the people were nice. I'll definitely stay again when I'm up in CT. I was there to support my boyfriend's little brother at a college football game, and we don't live in CT. The issue was paying. When I called earlier in the week to change my reservation dates, I was told to bring my ID and the card used to book. I explained that my boyfriend would pay with his card and that I'd only used mine to reserve the room. The man said that was no problem and that my boyfriend should bring his ID, then the call disconnected. At the front desk, the woman said I had to use a card in my own name because the reservation was in my name. She couldn't find any notes from the man I spoke to and asked when I called; I gave her the details. She said it was their policy, which I'd never heard of at another hotel, but whatever. Luckily, my boyfriend could transfer me the money so I could pay. They would have left us without a room if he couldn't have, and the woman did apologize for the inconvenience. Still, it was the principle of it. Make sure the funds are available on a card belonging to the person named on the booking. Lesson learned.

The rooms are nice, very clean, and really spacious. The staff were super friendly too. This place deserves better than 3.7 stars, and I'd stay again.

The General Manager was very unprofessional and kept insisting that I provide a physical card. They wouldn't let me tap or give my card information, and he kept saying it was hotel policy. Someone like that should be removed from the hospitality field.

The pool was closed, though I wasn't planning to use it, so that didn't bother me. The rooms were clean and the AC worked well, and I'd stay here again. I expected less after seeing the online photos, but the decor and experience were better than they looked there. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast impressed me with its range: waffle maker, juice, coffee, donuts, oatmeal, eggs, and sausage.
