Watching the sunrise along the shoreline was a highlight, with boats, houses, and those gorgeous rocks to look at. I also had a balcony with chairs, though it didn’t face the sound directly. The hotel itself was a lovely surprise. I usually go for bigger chains, and the ones nearby haven’t impressed me; beach hotels can be hit or miss too, but The Surfside Hotel exceeded my expectations. The room felt bright and cheerful, with updated decor and a spotless bathroom that put me at ease right away. Staff kept us informed by text about check-in and checkout despite limited front desk hours, and there was a number to call if anything came up. We never needed it. We had a fun happy hour at the attached Little Pub, with good food, drinks, and conversation with locals and visitors. The complimentary coffee was good, too. We had a great weekend visiting our son at SHU and would happily stay again.

Room 14 had a gorgeous balcony view, and the room itself was beautiful with two king beds. There’s plenty of parking, plus a small, cozy gym and a guest room with coffee and snacks on the ground floor. The pub downstairs is handy and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were extremely friendly, and the view from the room was hard to beat. Thanks!

The location is hard to beat, and the rooms were both lovely and comfortable. We had a relaxed walk on the beach and a really good meal at Little Pub. Everyone was so friendly, and we loved our stay.

The view was great, but the service when we arrived was frustrating. Nobody was at the front desk, and the posted number went unanswered, so we had to find someone over at the bar. After we settled in and went to supper, we came back to find the heater wasn’t working. The room phone didn’t work either, and calling the front desk number again got no answer, so we went back down to the bar. Someone came up and got the heater going after 10-15 minutes. The room also smelled musty, like it had been closed up for a while. At $300, we expected more and left quite disappointed.

We stayed one night while taking my daughter and niece to a Conan Gray concert. The staff made it memorable for the girls in a really unexpected way: they played Conan Gray music in the lobby and put up a picture of him with the girls’ names on it. It was amazing. Our room was clean and we had a great stay. We’ll definitely be back.
