Econo Lodge

I was sent here for a work trip and worried after reading the reviews. The room was quite adequate, and the bed was comfortable and clean. There was a strong smell of cleaning products when I first walked in, but the stay was much better than I expected. It's an Econo lodge, not the Ritz.

The room was quiet at night, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. It had a fridge, TV, and microwave, and the laminate floor instead of carpet was new to me. I also got a laugh out of the bottle opener attached to the bathroom vanity. It was clean enough, but way overpriced.

The room was quiet and stayed warm, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. We booked this motel because it was convenient and inexpensive. Parking was a bit hard to find. Our king room only had two pillows, but the front desk woman, Billie Jo, was very kind and quickly made up two more for us to pick up. The shower was nice with hot water. Its vent was broken, so we left the door open. The room light didn't work, but we used another lamp. The bed was okay, on the hard side, which isn't unusual. I appreciated the several soaps, shampoo, and lotion. Breakfast was minimal: waffle maker, orange juice, water, bagels, and cereal. I wish they'd had eggs or fruit, but it was better than nothing. I'd recommend it if you're skiing or snowboarding nearby and need somewhere to stay.

I was really disappointed, especially as an elite member with Comfort Inn. If this is what other hotels in the chain are like, I don't see why I'm collecting points. I was with my adult children, not alone, and we all had a bad stay. Online photos made it look like the rooms had balconies, but that wasn't the case. Getting to the light breakfast meant going outside and around the corner, and the laundry dryer didn't work. The laundry room was also outside. The bed felt like a brick, and the radio kept making all kinds of noise. Hotels should stop posting lovely pictures that turn out so different in person. I plan to stay only at Comfort Inn from now on.
