Flower Field Inn and Cottages

I don’t find this motel welcoming. The owner has banned me from visiting my mother, who stays there, based on hearsay or a story she made up. I don’t speak to other residents, though she claims I did. I’m gay, and I feel she doesn’t like that; she has also threatened to charge me for visiting every day. I’ve never visited more than three days a week or stayed overnight. I don’t know whether banning me is even legal, since I haven’t done anything wrong, and I intend to sue over discrimination. She also quoted my mother a different price from the one she gave me, seemingly to raise the cost. Be warned, you could be treated unfairly, kicked out, or charged $1,000 for a 30-day stay in a very small room with one bed. I hope you have better luck than we did.

The staff were very nice, especially the manager/owner, and it’s pet friendly. The rooms are dated but usable, though the floors sag and a bathroom window was broken and covered with a towel. I just wish the rooms were kept in better shape.

I lived there for a few years. The room seemed okay at first, but it had roaches, and despite my repeated complaints, they only fumigated every so often and didn’t really address it. Repairs were ignored too. The maintenance man was rude and unpleasant, while the woman handling rent was nosy and always offering advice I didn’t want. There’s also a busybody in the area who seems able to get away with anything. When I tried to bring concerns to management, they shut me down. It felt like all they cared about was collecting money, and rent increases made it hard to get by. I’d go somewhere else.

This was the worst place I’ve stayed. The outside cottage was freezing because the heater/AC didn’t work properly. Turning on the hairdryer made the lights go out, and even after we tried several times to fix it, the bathroom was left without light. There was no hot water during the day either. How can they offer rooms in this condition? To me, this room was worth no more than $15, not $100.
