Southwind Motel

We paid for a week, and the room smelled like cigarettes with dirty floors. The staff were very rude, except for the maid. The manager stole a silver bracelet. They also kept our $80 deposit, claiming we’d wrecked the carpets and broken the air conditioning unit. LOL, that wasn’t the case at all. We got screwed in the end. Never stay here. I’d rather be outside getting bitten by noseeums. Worst experience of my life.

The room smelled like urine, with a dead lizard and chips on the floor. For the bath mat, they’d sprung for PAPER. There wasn’t even a coffee maker or phone. Management didn’t turn on the air conditioner until we were already inside, and it was very hot. As soon as they heard we had dogs, the deposit went up to $50 CASH.

They charge $25 a week for wifi. The room was dirty and smelled moldy, and it wasn’t up to date for the price. The TV was an old boxy type. We had a fridge, but no microwave or coffee pot, and the bed and pillows smelled. Service was downright rude, and they don’t return your deposits. I wouldn’t recommend this motel. Quality Inn is right down the street.

For a roach motel, it’s average. At this price, you’d be better off at the Qualcity Inn down the street. Checkout is earlier than at most places, and wifi costs extra. There’s also NO continental breakfast like at Quality Inn.
