The separate houses and units kept things quiet, with no late arrivals, early departures, or people running in the halls disturbing us. That mattered most to us, and we’d definitely recommend the place and return. We stayed over Mother’s Day weekend, and the room was very large, clean, and beautifully decorated. The beds and linens were comfortable, and the bathroom was large with two sinks. Breakfast was free. The woman at the front desk was very nice, and we loved the free chocolate cookies. A great find all around!

The pool was a good size and very clean, and the bathroom was nice and fairly updated. We stayed in the main, Old Inn, and it was as expected. The room was large, with a great, comfortable four-post bed, but had only one chair, no fridge or microwave, and a small LCD TV. The location is excellent for Old Sturbridge Village. I’d probably stay again, though the office staff could be friendlier.

It’s a good spot close to everything, including Old Sturbridge and regular Sturbridge. I liked the old world charm, the interesting old rooms, and the old inn itself. The bed was comfortable. The card key worked, but the front door to our building was hard to open. There was no one in the office after we checked in to help. I think someone should be there more regular hours, since things can happen. Still, I liked the place.

The room was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed, and the air conditioning worked well in summer. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Emily. The grounds are picturesque, with the accommodation facing each other across a green where geese and rabbits wander. It’s a 10 minute walk or short drive to the old village. A few things fell short. If you’re after a historical stay, most of the accommodation is a late 20th century motel made to look old-style. The shower room and toilet are tiny, too small to dry off or change in, and need a refit. In August the pool was covered and closed with no explanation. The “continental breakfast” is self-serve coffee and a muffin, so they should just call it what it is. Booking was old-fashioned too, with email requests and payment by phone. For one night, the $310 cost felt unjustified. Including entry to the old village brought it down to $250, but for a stay longer than one night it’s definitely way above what it should be.

The beds were on the firm side, which I liked, though I know that won’t suit everyone. Each bed had three pillows with different firmness levels, which I appreciated, and there was an alarm clock available even though I didn’t need it. With three adults sharing two beds, the rooms were much better than a normal hotel. No complaints about the bathroom. Complimentary breakfast was about the same as elsewhere. I’d book a room again if I’m passing through.
