Best Western Maritime Inn

Within an hour of entering the room, we saw several cockroaches and other bugs. The first room also smelled musty, was very dirty, and had hair on the shower walls that wasn’t ours. When I told the front desk and asked to move, she either didn’t believe me or didn’t care. Thankfully the replacement room had no bugs that we noticed. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough, and I wouldn’t stay again. This ruined my perception of Best Westerns. Pay more and stay somewhere else.

Just north of Sturgeon Bay town center, this is a nice location and good value. They put real effort into the free continental breakfast bar, which is fully stocked with lots of choices. There’s also an indoor pool and a comfortable lobby seating area in front of a fireplace.

I stayed in Room 144 on Wednesday 10/29 for work, and the next morning I found bed bugs, two different bugs, one in each queen bed. It was a massive pain trying to prevent bringing them home. Management was defensive and took no responsibility, rather than being apologetic. I asked to be compensated for items I couldn’t wash. Almost a week later, they seem to be dodging my calls, and I still have no updates. They said they were contacting corporate, but when I reached out myself, corporate said no reports had been filed five business days later. DON'T STAY HERE!!!

Check in and check out were easy, and the room and everything with it felt clean and fresh. The pool and hot tub were refreshing. Breakfast was good too, though the woman in charge wasn’t always wearing gloves. Overall, a solid hotel.
