Travelodge by Wyndham Sturgis

If zero stars were an option, I’d give that. The room was filthy, with what looked like blood or something on the pillows, plus cigarette burns and strange stains on the comforter. When I pointed out how dirty and neglected the place was, the woman at the front desk seemed annoyed and told me, “well you guys are free to just leave.” So we did. It didn’t feel safe or welcoming at all. Avoid this place at all costs.

I always book here when I’m in Sturgis, and I’ve never had a bad bed or room. Requests have been handled every time. On my last online check-in, I asked for a room closer to the front, and it was there when I arrived without needing to bring it up in person. Check-in and checkout are easy, and the online process went smoothly. See you next trip!

The place was clean, and the staff were great, ready to help make the stay comfortable and hassle free. A few minor repairs or upgrades would improve the rooms, but overall it was good.

Both rooms I was offered were awful. After driving for 12 hours, I was completely exhausted, but checking the beds made me recoil. I can’t say what caused the mess, but it was shocking. I ended up sleeping in my car for two days. There should be a zero-star option. This place should be shut down.
