We paid for two nights here after our home burned down, but the room was dirty and smelled horrible. We didn’t know that checking in at 5 a.m. counted as a night, and at 11 a.m. a man called my husband rudely, yelling that it was checkout time. We have a paralyzed daughter, so getting her ready and packing took time. A few minutes later he called again and yelled checkout time at us again. They showed no compassion at all, even though we needed an emergency place to stay after losing our home. I can’t recommend this place.

The bed and pillows are the reason I’d give this place five stars. The rest of the hotel was maybe a three, with nothing especially nice besides being clean. But if you want a good night’s sleep, this place is legit. It’s better than 95% of the Marriott’s I stay at over 90 nights a year.

A clean room and hot shower, plus a decent value, but the motel was pretty basic. The chair, window, and window screen were broken, and the pillows were so lumpy we bought new ones. There’s a small fitness room with a treadmill, elliptical, bike, and weighted balls. Breakfast was a basic continental spread.

The room’s smell hit us as soon as we walked in. It was like a smoker and a wet dog had been in there, with wet carpet and a mix of cleaner and stink. We opened the window and door, turned the fan and AC up high, and ran the bathroom vent. After about 30 minutes we could stand it, or maybe we’d just gotten used to it. We were glad we brought a strong fan. There was also a loud banging, like someone hitting open pipes. My husband thought it was pipes from people using water. It got quieter after I called the front desk, then started again the next morning. Aside from that, it was fairly quiet. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve had at a hotel, and I slept great, which is unusual for me. It had a metal frame, so there was less chance of bedbugs, though old pizza crust on the corner made me wonder whether they’d changed the sheets and how they could have missed it. The staff member I dealt with, a younger Indian gentleman, was very friendly, helpful when I reported an issue, and followed up. The large parking lot has room for trailers, and the gas station next door has semi parking if needed. Breakfast was cheap mini muffins and Twinkies, with a waffle maker and coffee, but only two tables that people were hanging around. We ate elsewhere. Several fast food places and Walmart are within walking distance, including Hardee’s across the street. The room wasn’t great or the worst, but I’d only return if I had no other choice, and I’d bring a fan and maybe earplugs.

The location was perfect and the shower was great, but the place was dirty and damp. Mold was growing up the table legs, and the sheet and shower curtain had mildew stains. We also saw a bug run under the waffle batter machine. We’ll never stay there again.
