Candlewood Suites Lake Charles-Sulphur By IHG

I recently stayed at Candlewood Suites and found the experience very upsetting. An urgent personal emergency came up during my stay involving the health of my 5-month-old puppy, which was stressful to handle while also dealing with my accommodations. I couldn't get a refund or any compensation, despite the circumstances. I called the manager for four days in a row and left several messages asking for a call back, but never heard anything. The lack of communication and response made an already difficult situation worse. I expected more empathy and service from Candlewood Suites. I'm very disappointed and won't return to this hotel chain. If a problem comes up, be aware that you may not get the help or communication you need.

We stayed here for the final night of our vacation this year, and it was one of the best places we stayed. The clean rooms, comfortable beds, easy access from the interstate, and quiet setting covered my three Cs of travel: clean, comfortable, and convenient. Check-in was easy, and the desk clerk was really nice. I also appreciated the helpful handout explaining how the amenities worked and offering suggestions. 10/10, Donna recommended.

A good inexpensive place to stay, especially if you're looking for solid customer service. The staff made sure we were taken care of. The hotel itself and the rooms were average, with nothing special about them. There is a small outdoor pool and gazebo with two grills, plus a small workout area and a laundry room near the lobby, both complimentary.
