Days Inn Sulphur West

The breakfast counter hadn’t been cleaned from the morning, and it was nasty. There was no one at the front desk when I came back from the store, and later, when my sister and I returned, the same rude clerk from check-in told me she’d already canceled my room. I said I’d changed rooms that morning, and she wasn’t happy. My sister decided to cancel too, and I went to stay with her at our brother’s house. No one was at the desk when I returned the key, so I left it and went. At check-in on 7-18-25, the person behind the counter was rude. My room smelled like smoke, even though I smoke but not in the room. I saw bugs, had no hot water, no TV, and no WiFi. I went to the office the next morning to ask about the room and hot water. A different person said the manager would arrive after 8:00am, so I said I’d come back. The TVs are controlled from the office, too.

In room 257, there were only three TV channels, a stain on the wall, and a shower handle made from ViceGrips. It was hard to figure out, but it worked. The first night the shower was hot, but the next day it never warmed up. I called the lobby and was told they’d fix it tomorrow, the day we were checking out, so I took a cold shower. Later, we found an open loaf of bread shoved behind the TV stand. I didn’t bother reporting it since we were leaving and she hadn’t addressed the water. We’d first been put in room 147, where the TV didn’t work at all. When we called, the woman asked if my husband could fix it. She moved us to 257 and asked us to clean the first room as we’d found it, making a nasty face. We’d only been there about 20 minutes and had just our food and bags from DoorDash. She came for us around 10 minutes later. I don’t think the room had been cleaned. There was dirt on the floor, the complimentary shampoo had already been used, light came through under the door, and the room smelled nasty, almost like smoke. The lobby smelled bad too, and the breakfast setup was so dirty I couldn’t tell if it was open. Housekeeping was on her phone and smoking in the walkway with a laundry basket in front of her when we left. The woman had poor communication and customer service. I wouldn’t stay here again.

This place was disgusting. There were stains or food on every towel, sheet, and blanket, plus hair in the bathtubs. We switched rooms, but the next one was worse. It took about six hours to get two fitted sheets and two towels after asking for fresh linens. We were told they’d call for a blanket by 11 pm, but gave up waiting and slept together in one bed with a fitted sheet as our blanket. The young woman at the front desk seemed to have no resources to help make the stay better. It felt like management wouldn’t buy new linens or provide proper cleaning. Everyone except her should be fired. I won’t put my family through this again. For some reason I can’t add the awful photos we took.

The waffle makers don’t cook, so breakfast offers a plate of what I can only call FDA-approved muck. Cable gives you five working channels. If stained towels and depression sound appealing, this is the place for you. Enjoy!
