The breakfast was a real highlight, especially the fresh fruit, which was a welcome change from the usual fried or pre-made food on a road trip. The coffee was hot and good, and the woman running breakfast was friendly and helpful the whole time. I wish I could remember her name. My wife and I spent four nights here during a two-week fall trip through Kentucky and West Virginia. There aren't many decent hotel options around Summersville, so we booked based on the reviews and were glad we did. This was one of only two hotels out of seven on our trip that felt busy and well organized every day. The staff clearly cared about their work. It's an older Hampton Inn, and that shows in the smaller rooms and some worn edges. Renovations were underway during our stay, though, and the finished areas already looked refreshed. The maintenance crew was working all over the property, so it should be in good shape when the work is done. Even with that work going on, the place stayed clean, and the team was friendly and working hard from morning to night. I'd recommend it for a stay in the area.

The staff were amazing, the room was great, and the food was really good. They had cookies after 6 p.m. and bags to take along for the drive. There's an indoor pool too. The hotel is being renovated, but I'd highly recommend staying here.

I had a nice weekend stay. The service was courteous, and breakfast was better than I expected. The Wi-Fi in the rooms didn't work well, the fitness center was closed, and the main hallway was being renovated.

We booked three nights for a family trip to Summersville Lake. Everything on our activity list was within about an hour, including kayaking at Summersville Lake, Ace Adventure waterpark, Rail Explorers, and New River Gorge Bridge. The kids' favorite part was the outdoor pool. It was clean, had lounge chairs and towels, and there was a fire pit area too. Pool hours were 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., so we had plenty of time to swim. The hotel was spotless, and our room had enough space for two adults and two kids. Staff were friendly and happy to help with requests. Housekeeping worked hard on the rooms, elevators, and shared areas. There was hot coffee and cocoa around the clock, fresh baked cookies, and a good range of items at the included breakfast. They also had breakfast bags to grab and go. Even though the hotel is near a major road, we didn't notice much noise. Shops, restaurants, and a movie theater were close by. We'd happily stay again.
