This used to be a fine dining restaurant and a fine hotel. Now it's neither: there's no restaurant, and the food is catered from somewhere else. It's called a B&B, but it's mostly closed to regular guests because the property is rented out for special events.

We came to see the sights in Charleston, so we were usually here only mornings and evenings. We stayed over the Christmas holidays in 2006 and enjoyed it very much. The staff were accommodating and brought all our meals to the room. We had our toddler daughter and dog with us, which I know our neighbors didn't enjoy. It's a beautiful place.

We came from out of town to see the place where my husband and I got married 36 years ago. A billboard advertised it, and there were no signs saying it was private or closed, but a hostile man told us to get off the property. It was an extremely rude encounter. I wonder if the owners know he's managing the place this way. Who pays for the billboard, and why advertise if visitors aren't welcome? Is this just a setup to make this beautiful place a tax write-off? Did they hire this awful man to keep people away? Stay away until management changes.

This place would've meant the world to me for my wedding, and I was set on it before seeing it in person. I called more than six times and waited patiently on several occasions to speak with the event coordinator, but never reached her. Instead, an older gentleman just hung up on me because I asked to visit an hour earlier than their noon viewing time. I live an hour away, and the later time would've taken up half my workday. He was rude, stressed, uninterested, and wouldn't work with me or give me any attention. After that, I decided it wasn't the place for us. If arranging a visit takes six calls, why trust them with a wedding? It really saddens me. He treated me like an inconvenience. Appreciate it.

I called several times about wedding prices and availability. When we spoke on 7/25, the older gentleman said he didn't know when prices would be available or what they would be, and told me to call back later the next month. When I asked if he could take my contact details, he said he already had enough responsibilities. Extremely rude and unprofessional.
