Don't book this property. The photos on Expedia were outdated and didn't show the current condition or surroundings, and the area felt unsafe. The owners were extremely rude. About 15 minutes after arriving, I asked to cancel and get my security deposit back, and was met with hostility. My phone was literally thrown back at me just because I asked for a photo confirming the deposit return. The owner said the printer was down and couldn't give me a copy. I didn't feel safe staying there. While on the property, I saw a physical altercation and what looked like a drug deal. Save yourself the hassle and skip it. We stayed at Candlewood Suites instead for only $20-$30 more, and it was absolutely worth it.
The front desk interaction was quick, and the woman seemed to be in an okay mood. The upstairs hallways had been redone, which looked promising, and the room itself looked surprisingly nice when I opened the door. But the towels were gross: there was black hair wrapped inside the one by the sink, and the shower towels were disgusting. There was also hair on the bathroom wall, so the shower hadn't been cleaned before I checked in. The toilet paper wasn't even on its holder. I wish hotels would stop buying white towels, or at least provide cheap disposable ones. Glad I brought my own. When I pulled up, I felt uneasy. There was an abandoned hotel building behind the one that looked okay, and trash all around the parking lot.
I wish it were easier to reach management. When we asked the front desk woman how to contact the manager, she said our reason wasn't good enough, and she didn't answer when our booking agency tried calling. She was rude and yelled at my partner for asking questions, saying she didn't have time to help. There were several extra charges: a $60 deposit that they said would be refunded after checkout, with the return expected to take a week; a pet fee that wasn't in the quoted price; and a $30 early check-in fee. The halls smelled of chemicals, the rooms didn't match the pictures, and the bed had only a top sheet, no fitted sheet. There was a hole in the ceiling. Worse, black mold was in the shower, room and AC/heater, so we couldn't use the heater. I used the last of my money on this place and couldn't afford to go elsewhere. If I could, I'd have given it zero stars. It's a waste of money and a joke.
The front desk woman was kind and helpful, but that didn't make up for the rest of the experience. We couldn't use the showers, the bathrooms were old, and the rooms were very basic. Towels, pillowcases and sheets were stained. The hallways smelled of drugs, and the heavy cleaning-solution smell used to cover it was a problem too. If you're sensitive to Lysol or Fabuloso smells, avoid this place. I wouldn't stay here with kids. I regret booking without checking the reviews first. The place felt like a mess, and I found the owners to be awful business owners. You can find better rooms at Motel 6. They don't cancel once you book, and charged a $60 refundable deposit that they apparently return after checkout. We'll see how that goes.
The room was awful: mold in the shower, walls and AC unit, rust in the shower, and a fridge that smelled disgusting, like it hadn't been cleaned. The linens and towels were dirty and smelled horrid. The front desk woman was just as bad, yelling that she was too busy to help and telling customers to stop asking for service. She was dismissive and rude, and blocked me when I asked for a manager, saying I had no proper reason. While we waited for our room, she yelled at us and kicked us off the property 30 minutes before check-in. This was the worst service I've ever experienced. The business is a disgrace, and the room could make you sick. Save your money and don't stay here.
