Affordable Suites Sumter SC

Greg makes you feel like family. Whenever we see him in the parking lot, he asks how we're doing and seems to genuinely care about helping. He looks after guests and the property, often sorting out what you need before you even ask. He stocks rooms with pots, pans, silverware, a cutting board, cups, plates, and an ironing board and iron. The grounds stay tidy thanks to his work, and the housekeeping team keeps the rooms clean. Weekly housekeeping was great and they really put in extra effort. We stayed for a few months while my husband started training at Shaw AFB, and we're already planning to return. Our room had a separate bedroom plus a living room and kitchen, so we never felt cramped. With a full-size stove and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, and a good-sized sink, we could keep cooking just as we do at home. Other hotels wouldn't have let us maintain that routine. The area is quiet, with several restaurants and a good grocery store less than five minutes away on Alice Drive. Shaw AFB is about a ten-minute drive, and Palmetto Park, where you can walk and play tennis, is only a few minutes away. It's been a great stay, and we're looking forward to coming back to Sumter.

We meant to stay a few months but ended up spending a year here, and I'd gladly return if I needed temporary lodging in Sumter for work or a visit. Mr. Greg is a terrific manager: friendly, helpful, and quick to handle any maintenance issue. His housekeeping staff were wonderful, too. The clean room was a nice size for a one-bedroom setup, with a living room and full kitchen. There was a pullout sofa for extra sleeping space, plus a full-size fridge and freezer and cups and utensils. The property is close to base, across from the mall, and a short drive from Columbia and Florence.

The housekeeping person was helpful when I couldn't find coffee filters and asked for some. Greg also got me ideas for places to eat, I hope. I had a very good stay, and he sorted out a few booking hiccups for me.

I stayed here for work in 2021-2022 and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Greg, the property manager, is both professional and genuinely nice. He and his staff keep the building and grounds meticulously maintained, and everyone is friendly and works hard to make sure guests are happy. I can't say enough good things about Greg, the staff, and Affordable Suites of America. I hope to stay there again soon. Thanks again! Tony Golczak (“doc”)
