Barker's Island Inn Resort

The lobby, restaurant, and conference room were all in great shape, and we rented the conference room one night for pizza with the families. The boys played knee hockey until they got bored and moved on, while the parents played cards and LRC after the pool closed. We were here for hockey tournaments two years in a row. There's a big pool area for the kids, but the rooms really need renovation, especially the bathrooms. It's a nice hotel otherwise.

Watching the ships break the ice was an awesome view. The staff were great and super attentive, but the room smelled funny and needed more Lysol. The restaurant was so-so, and they need to change the fryer oil once in a while. Like other motels up north, the heater sits right below the window and is hard to regulate. The place could use a few dollars spent on updates.

Friday and Saturday during Ice Festival weekend, the Barkers Island Inn had lots of fun activities for families and all ages. Everything was well organized, and the service was phenomenal everywhere, from check-in to the restaurant and bar. The bathroom needs attention: both the sink and shower water knobs need service or replacement. The shower knob was so loose that changing the temperature by a degree took almost half a turn. Hot water took a LONG time to arrive, but was fine once it did. We had a fantastic visit, and hope the bathrooms are updated before we come back 😀.

We had a relaxing staycation at Barker’s with friends. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond, and there was plenty of parking. The pool area and jacuzzi were nice, and I loved that they also have a sauna. Our room was a good size for the price. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant or bar, but it was nice having both on site. We'll be back.
