We stayed on 14 OCT 2025 during our three months travelling the east Coast of USA from Australia. This Holiday Inn was the benchmark for the others we stayed in. The rooms were in good shape, and the cleaning team deserves credit, especially since the hotel can get hectic. Elizabeth? at reception really stood out, and the staff in general were kind and helpful. Breakfast was a highlight: a good selection, kept fresh, and the staff kept cleaning tables despite all the tourists. The apples wrapped in cling wrap stuck in my memory, as did the moist cinnamon scrolls kept under covers. At most of the other Holiday Inns, uncovered scrolls had dried out and turned rock hard. The location is convenient, though, as usual in the USA, you need a vehicle. We've stayed in these hotels around the world, and this one runs especially well. We'd happily stay again. We keep coming back to this newer Holiday Inn Express & Suites on Pantops Corner Way when we visit Charlottesville. It's consistently clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. For our wedding at Eastwood Farm & Winery, we arranged a room block for our guests, and the process was seamless. Booking through the block was completely free, and the contract clearly explained when unused rooms would be released. Before the wedding, they even checked in with me to make sure everyone on my guest list got the rate, including people who forgot to use the block code. Everything went smoothly, and our guests were happy with their rooms. We'd highly recommend working with this hotel for a Charlottesville stay or wedding.

We had another bad experience here after giving the hotel a second chance. A year ago, room 237 had a dirty bathtub and shower. This time we asked them to scrub the shower while we were out at doctors appointments, but when we returned, the same dried blood was still on the wall. They moved us to room 235, which smelled strongly of mold, then moved us again to room 207. That one was clean. The woman at the desk was awesome and is the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. I think the cleaning staff may be the main problem.

For what we paid, the hotel was worth every dollar, and I'd highly recommend staying here. The staff were friendly. Since we were there over Thanksgiving weekend, housekeeping was kept minimal so staff could spend time with their families. We just asked at the front desk for towels, and they were happy to give us extras each morning. That worked fine for us.

The quiet rooms and comfortable bed made for a really nice stay, and we loved the walk-in shower and the Dove soaps and shampoos. The hotel is in a fantastic location and was so clean that we thought it had just been built, though it actually dates to 2021. Breakfast was hot and tasty, with more than stale muffins and nasty waffles. We also appreciated the fresh lemon water and the coffee and tea available in the lobby around the clock. We'll definitely stay here again when we're back in the area.
