Garner Hotel Phoenix Northwest – Surprise by IHG

Lynda was especially kind and helped us with everything we needed. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The Garner Hotel was comfortable and clean, a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

We were there for weekend Texas Rangers games with my son. The rooms were a bit small and basic, but clean, modern, and well cared for. Everyone was friendly, professional, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast buffet stayed hot and fresh. No complaints, and we were very happy with our stay. 👍🏻👍🏻

The staff are wonderful, especially a young lady named Linda. They do a great job here, and the place is immaculate and very clean. I travel a lot, and this was my most impressive overnight stay yet. Five stars for sure.

When I checked in,around 1500 on 1.25.2026, the front desk gave me a key to a room that was already occupied. That security issue alone should set off alarms. Breakfast doesn’t open until 0630, but we have work at 0600. Staff wouldn’t let us take even a piece of fruit or milk, and wouldn’t allow paper plates or napkins, nothing. That’s a poor way to treat diamond members. There were also homeless people and drug users roaming the property, and the rooms felt old and musty. I went nearly 24 hours without hot water, and staff did nothing about it. The long haired guy at the front desk gave me attitude while I tried to explain, as if I’d made it up. I told him to run the hot water himself. At 0530 1.31.2026, both front desk staff just stared blankly. The General manager called my room that night and said the water problem was fixed, but on 2.1.2026 there was still no hot water at 0500. When I checked out on 2.1.2026, the long haired guy handed me my receipt. I gave him my room keys and left for my flight home. The next day I found I was still checked in because he never checked me out. The woman who helped sort it out around 1700 on 2.2.2026 was VERY HELPFUL, the BEST STAFF MEMBER YET!!! This isn’t the quality I expect from an IHG Hotel, and I suspect it comes down to the general manager. The strange thing is the owner also owns the Holiday Inn over in Surprise AZ, and that place is fabulous with an amazing staff. I’d stay there instead, it’s only a few minutes away.
