Heart 6 Ranch

I’ve stayed in all three kinds of rooms here: teepee, wagon, and cabin. It’s one of my favourite places to enjoy the outdoors and feel close to the mountains. The cabin is cozy, if a bit small, and has good heat and electricity. I don’t spend much time in the room, so it works perfectly for sleeping. A wagon is fun because it’s right in the middle of everything, though passing cars can make it loud. It also has heat and electricity, a step up from the teepee. The teepee is very basic, so bundle up if you want to sleep through the cold, but it’s a great way to take in the whole experience.

The place charges a lot for what you get. They advertise two restaurants, but there was only one self-service bar serving food. The choices were just 2 beers and no wine, and several items we ordered were unavailable. We had to buy their $5 cup to get water, and the bartenders weren’t welcoming. The sleeper sofa had mouse droppings, the blinds were badly broken, and the windows were so dirty we could hardly see the view. There were lots of dead flies on the sill, and we could hear the people in the next-door bathroom as if they were right beside us. The location is beautiful, but...

We went for lunch and horseback riding in late September 2025. The views were absolutely stunning, but any other ranch can offer views like those. The trails were covered in rocks, and over an hour my horse stumbled and tripped 7-8 times. It seemed dangerous for both horse and rider. I’m usually very comfortable riding, but this time I felt the horse might fall. When I mentioned it, staff said, “that’s just Buttercup! She’s clumsy.” The ride also started an hour late, so we were glad not to have fixed plans afterward. Service on the ride was incredibly rude and dismissive. A woman asked whether the horses responded to verbal commands, and the guide made fun of her in front of everyone. Lunch cost us $70 for cheese sticks and two sandwiches. We expected high prices, but not the flies inside the restaurant. It was super dirty. There was an old, dried pile of dog poop on the patio that had clearly been there a long time, used napkins and wrappers lying around, dirty baskets, and a general lack of upkeep. I can deal with dated amenities, but not that level of uncleanliness. I’d highly recommend staying away.

For $279 a night, I expected more in the room. There was space for a mini fridge, microwave, TV, and dresser, but none were provided. No A/C, though it wasn’t an issue for the time of year. Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the front desk basically shrugged when I mentioned it, saying the signal gets worse farther from the server. The toilet was awkwardly placed by the bathroom door, even though there was a better spot by the sink. I turned on the heated bathroom floor, but it never worked. If it’s offered, it should work. The window next to the bed needed a board to stay open. The bed and shower were nice, and the view of the valley and Tetons in the distance was spectacular. The location was excellent, about 10 minutes from the north entrance to Grand Teton.
