Windmill Suites Surprise - Phoenix, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We got kicked out of Comfort Inn Chandler - Phoenix South I-10, 7400 W Boston St, Chandler, AZ 8522, even though our room had been extended. Still mad about that, haha. Windmill got us checked in that same day for a week, and the counter lady Cassandra was really friendly. Extending our stay here was no problem either. Great breakfast, lots of families around, and just a great hotel. Nice place. We’ll definitely come back.

The room was so homey and cozy that checking out was nearly impossible, especially with free late checkout. We hadn’t booked a handicap accessible room for our guest with a wheelchair, but didn’t need one. The rooms were spacious enough to move around easily in a wheelchair, and accessibility wasn’t an issue. It was incredibly quiet, with no outside noise, and the bed was comfortable and spacious. The room, pool, and hot tub were all great, and check-in went smoothly. Free cookies at check-in and a free breakfast that beat most standard hotel breakfasts were nice extras. Anything that might have been a small inconvenience was easy to overlook with so many positives. We had a quiet romantic getaway for one night, and it was an amazing stay. A hidden little gem in Surprise, AZ, worth every penny. We’ll absolutely return!

The pool was great and breakfast was good, but the hot tub was way too hot. We stayed five nights and the garbage cans were emptied only once. Other guests left their garbage outside their doors. We couldn’t get clean towels unless we went to the front desk, and the front desk gals weren’t very friendly or helpful.

We came from Texas for graduation at GCU, about a 30-minute drive away. The rooms were clean, spacious, and accommodating, and the front desk staff helped us with traffic tips. The bathtub was my one challenge; it needs slip stickies. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the light, fluffy waffles with warm syrup and butter. Best waffles I’ve ever had. Great experience!
