Kiota Inn & Event Center Sutter Creek, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We liked the room, the comfortable bed, and the nice bathroom. My husband booked the hotel for a dinner at a local winery, and we'd heard it had been renovated a few years ago. Breakfast was the letdown. It was set up on folding tables and felt temporary, with cold cereal, bread, and bagels for toasting but no eggs, sausage, or bacon. After spending so much on modernizing, I think they could have put together a better breakfast.

Everything felt fresh and new, either brand new or recently remodeled. We especially liked the family suite, which had a bunk bed in a separate room and was a very reasonable price. Breakfast was decent, with great pastries, cereal, pancake machines, and other quick grab foods. The gym was pretty solid too, and the staff were very friendly. Rose, who was running breakfast, told us a lot about local history and places to check out. It's not far from Main Street, though we chose not to walk there at night because there wasn't much light. We'd definitely stay again.

The room was quiet, clean, modern, and newly renovated, with a mini fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable, the staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast was good. It was also nice to have an exercise room, and the hotel was a great price. The downside is that sound carries from the neighboring rooms. A couple nearby snored pretty loudly, though it didn't bother me too much.

Terrible customer service, and I won't stay here again. I've stayed here the last 3 Christmases, and they've overcharged me and multiple family members all three times. Getting the money back took a month. I understand mistakes happen, but this has happened far too often. They did fix the charges, but showed little concern, reassurance, or sympathy. Two people at the front desk were unkind and unsympathetic. Three strikes, you're out!
